Packaging design services built for the shelf

Packaging is the one piece of marketing your customer holds in their hands, and it competes from eighteen inches away against every neighbor on the shelf. Keller Creative provides packaging design services from our Knoxville studio for food, beverage, retail, and consumer products, taking each project from concept through print-ready production files.

We design for the buying moment first: what reads at a glance, what makes someone pick the package up, and what confirms the purchase once they do.

Start with the shelf, end with the dieline

Before designing, we look at where the product will actually sit: the competitor wall, the lighting, the price tier. The design has to win that specific context, not a mood board. Concepts get evaluated as physical mockups whenever possible, because a label that sings flat often fails wrapped around a curve.

Then the unglamorous part we refuse to outsource: dielines, bleeds, spot colors, varnish plates, and regulatory copy placement, built to your converter's spec so the files run clean the first time.

Proofed on a real press

Our building includes a working print shop, which changes how packaging projects feel. We can proof labels and prototype boxes in-house, check color on substrate instead of on a monitor, and hand you a physical sample to put in front of buyers or investors before committing to a production run.

When the job goes to a specialty converter, we manage that conversation in their language, press checks included if the run warrants it.

One SKU or a whole line

A single product needs a great package; a product line needs a system. We design the architecture that keeps flavor two and size four recognizably yours, with variation rules documented so new SKUs extend the line instead of eroding it.

Frequently Asked Questions About Packaging Design

  • Do you handle dielines and printer coordination?

Yes, fully. We build to your converter's dieline or source one, prepare separations and finish plates correctly, and stay in the loop through proofs and press approval. If you do not have a printer yet, we can produce shorter runs in-house or recommend converters suited to your format and volume.

  • Can you work with our required label copy and compliance rules?

We design around your regulatory requirements: nutrition panels, warnings, certification marks, and net contents placement. You or your compliance counsel supply the required language; we make sure it is incorporated legibly and correctly in the layout, and we flag anything that looks like it is missing.

  • How long does packaging design take?

Concept through approved design typically runs several weeks, then production timelines depend on your printer's schedule and proofing rounds. Material choices, structural changes, and number of SKUs move the timeline most. Bring your launch date to the first call and we will map the schedule honestly against it.
